Using fax maching with VOIP

Hello guys,

A few years back we used only VOIP in our office for phone calls and faxes. But we had big problems when receiving faxes. We were told that VOIP is not ideal for faxing. Is that still the case?

Indeed fax and VoIP dont seem to mix at all. I have never got one working reliable and I have even paid a cisco consultant to make one work and he failed. Ended up cheaper to just buy a PSTN line...

sending and receiving fax using voip is quite challenging. it would depend on your internet speed also since voip faxing requires data. however, the voip faxing shows a lot of improvement compared to few years back when voip is still new. But most people using voip now prefers to receive voip fax on their email, and send fax through fax machine connected to voip box.
