How does VoIP works?

VoIP works by providing phone calls over the internet. When you make phone calls, the calls will be travelling to the internet line instead of the regular phone wiring. VoIP can make you phone calls anywhere with high speed internet connection. Aside from the regular phone, you can now make phone calls using you desk top or laptop computer.

What do I need to use VoIP?

If you would like to use your computer, you just need to download voip softphone to your computer and configure your SIP settings. If you would like to use your existing phone, you just need to buy phone adopter to connect your phone to your internet. You can also replace with your old phone with IP Phone, this way, you don’t need to buy phone adopter anymore. If you travel a lot but have problem with your laptop, you can congfigure the SIP settings in your mobile and make voip calls directly from your mobile. Make sure your mobile has SIP settings, otherwise you have to download SIP setting application.

Does computer needs to be turned on?

If you will be using your pc to call, then the computer should be on. For calls using regular phone or IP phone, no need to turn on your pc. You only need internet connection for VoIP to work.

Just like the regular phone, you can do call forwarding, call waiting, call return, call hunt, voicemail, call block, do not disturb and lot more for free depending on your voip provider.
