pSkype has released a list of vendors who have announced support for its super-duper, superwideband voice codec SILK. The list below only includes those partners who have allowed Skype to use their names publicly at this point in time; i.e. there are likely others who are currently looking at and/or working with SILK to incorporate into their products and services./p pstronguComponent-level hardware/software/u/strongbr /ARM (Silicon)br /GIPS (Software)br /Hellosoft (Software)br /On2nbsp; (Transcoding solutions/codecs)br /TeCom (Hardware OEM)br /Trinity Convergence (Software)/p pstronguApplications level hardware and software/u/strongbr /Digium (IP PBX/open source telephony platform)br /Lifesize (HD video conferencing hardware)/p pstronguConsumer hardware/u/strongbr /Asus (phones, video phones, computers)br /Plantronics (headsets)/p pstronguBusiness services/u/strongbr /HiDef Conferencing (audio conferencing service)/p pOf course, the icing on the cake for SILK would be its adoption/blessing by Cisco, Microsoft and Polycom.nbsp;Cisco shouldn't have too much of a problem in adopting SILK; it already uses some open source code in its Linksys line of routers. Microsoft is a more interesting scenario and is (no doubt) rushing to unveil its own in-house-but-proprietary better solution./p pstrongRelated articles/strongbr /a href=http://www.fiercevoip.com/story/ecomm-2009-skype-jannounces-royality-free-silk-superwideband-voice-codec/2009-03-03eComm 2009: Skype announces royalty-free SILK superwideband voice codec/abr /a href=http://www.fiercevoip.com/story/audiocodes-09-hd-audio-push/2008-11-04AudioCodes '09 HD audio push - FierceVoIP/a/p
