IIS Group announced Wednesday it has purchased the VoIP assets and operating network of Ring9, a Gainesville, Fla.-based hosted PBX and network provider. IIS gains about 3,000 small business and enterprise VoIP customers in 34 states through the acquisition, according to a release.
IIS offers SIP trunking, hosted VoIP and IP PBX services, and provisioning services, and the Ring9 asset acquisition helps expand its nationwide footprint, the company said in a release. IIS said it anticipates a seamless transition of the Ring9 assets and network onto its own, and it expects to offer additional services to the customers it gained in the coming months. The terms of the acquisition were not made public.
